Nicole & Shaun
October Light Through Chapel Glass and Easy Laughter All Night
Nicole and Shaun's fall wedding wasn't built around a grand vision or a design concept. It was built around the simplest possible wish — a beautiful day with every person they love in the room. October 2019 delivered exactly that, with warm country air and a couple who found their stride the moment they stopped trying to perform.
The Best Part Was Before
The hours before the ceremony crackled with a different kind of energy. Nicole was with her girls, Shaun was with his boys, and both sides were building the stories they'd swap later that night. The getting-ready window wasn't downtime — it was the day's emotional ignition.
"My husband and I are not ones for the spotlight, but we both enjoyed the hanging out time. He had some great stories about the boys and I had some funny stories about the girls."
Quiet Before the Wonderful Craziness
They almost skipped it. Instead, the first look became the hinge of the whole day — a private, unscripted pocket of calm before everything opened up. They laughed so much the photographers had to pull them back on schedule.
"It was a nice, intimate time Shaun and I had before all the wonderful craziness. We had so much fun that the photographers had to keep us on track."
Love at First Sight — With a Building
Nicole didn't need the full tour. The chapel sealed the deal the moment she walked in. The rest of the property — the grounds, the town feel, the wraparound hospitality — was bonus. But that chapel, with its bones and its quiet, was the thing that made her say yes.
"I fell in love with the chapel. That was it for me. It was awesome having our own little town to get married in, but the chapel was what did it."
A Wedding Inside a Village
Silver Sycamore's layout gave the day a sense of place that a single ballroom never could. Guests moved between buildings, found corners to talk, drifted through the grounds like they were exploring a small town. The property didn't just host the wedding — it shaped it.
"It was awesome having our own little town to get married in."
A Guest Book That Laughed Back
The photo booth wasn't filler. It became the reception's beating heart — guests cycling through all night, props flying, faces pressed together in the frame. At the end of the evening, Nicole and Shaun took home a bound book of every shot, signed and captioned by the people in them.
"Our guests had so much fun with the photo booth. At the end of the night, we got our very own photo book of all the photos — it was like having a bonus guest book everyone signed."
Don't Stress the Same Stuff Twice
Nicole's advice lands like something learned the hard way and released the easy way. The wedding will move fast. The details that kept you up at night will dissolve into the energy of the room. Save your attention for the moments that actually matter.
"Don't stress over the same stuff — just like in marriage. That being said, practice bustling your dress before the wedding."
